The Law of Attraction -- Does it Work? Should We Use it?
You’ve probably heard about the Law of Attraction. Apparently, the Law works like this:
Step 1. You concentrate on your goal or desire,
Step 2. You believe it will come to you,
Step 3. It comes and you are successful.
If the Law of Attraction is true is it working for the people?
I think it works, but I also think that we should not use it.
Many individuals have tried the above steps and they have succeeded in their efforts. I’m one of them. A long time ago, when I had lived in another country, someone from another country gave me a postcard of a city on the West Coast. I put the postcard next to my bed and every night I promised myself that I would be living in this beautiful city.
Two years later, I moved there. I wasn’t teleported; I took physical steps to move there. However, because I was so laser focused on living in that city, and not in any other city, I missed other wonderful and much better opportunities that opened to me. It’s not that I just missed them, I said “no” to them.
Today, when I look back on my life, I know it was a mistake to move to that city and that place. I know that my life would have been so much better if I had moved to Montreal, where I eventually ended up living before moving to where I live now, Detroit.
It’s a long story, but let it be a warning to all of you so keen on manifesting your dreams through the Law of Attraction. Your current desire may be shaped by the media or social trend and not be what is best for you and very often is not. When you are laser focused on some goal and use the Law of Attraction to manifest that goal, that goal will manifest eventually, but it may be to your detriment, not to your benefit.
The Danger of the Law of Attraction
The danger of the Law of Attraction is real and it can be devastating. You will be using the Law of Attraction, without realizing it, to sabotage your opportunities to improve your life. You many never achieve your real goals and you may never realize your true potential.
