Relieve the symptoms of summer fatigue

As temperature rise, the body adjusts blood flow to vital organs to keep you cool,

but this exhausts the brain’s alertness control center (called the reticular activating system), leading to draggy fatigue. To stay energized when it’s steamy, hold an ice cube (or a frozen water bottle, or anything very cold) until your palms feel chilly. Stanford University researchers say cooling the heat-transfer veins in the palms normalizes core temperature to prevent overheating, reducing the strain on the brain and the risk of tiredness for 2 hours at a stretch.
